Eva Benavidez Clayton, Sr. Director of
Membership & Supply Chain
Eva Benavidez
Clayton is the Sr. Director of Membership & Supply Chain at Better Cotton,
the world’s largest cotton sustainability programme. After several years
building and leading the communications, public affairs and events function,
she has recently transitioned to a different role and now oversees the
organisation’s member engagement and operations, claims, and supply chain
efforts. For nearly the past decade, she has been focused on addressing key
sustainability questions within the textile and apparel space, but her
experience also spans the NGO and philanthropic sectors across issues such as
gender-based violence, human rights, and social inclusion. Eva is a believer in
the power of multi-stakeholder engagement to drive lasting change, and recognises
that now, more than ever, we need unlikely collaborations and creative, yet
pragmatic, thinking to address the climate crisis and support farming
communities who produce this precious raw material, cotton, that businesses and
ordinary people rely on and use every day. A
U.S. native and European resident for nearly 15 years, Eva holds a B.A. in
Spanish and English Literature and an International MBA.
