Dr. Shalini Sood Sehgal, Professor, NIFT | Principal Investigator & Creative Director, VisioNxt

Shalini is an Academician, a Foresight expert, and a Professor at NIFT, New Delhi with 3 decades of experience who is always interested in society’s constantly evolving mind shifts that impact fashion, lifestyle, and design trends across the world. She has done her Masters in Fashion Studies (Marketing and Management) from the London College of Fashion, UK  as well as trained at FIT, New York and NTU, Nottingham, UK. She is the Creative Director for VisioNxt, India’s first ever AI- EI enabled Trends Insight Lab at NIFT. She has consulted the leather industry across Delhi, Chennai, and Kolkata successfully creating forecasts for the exporters and running a ‘Design Centre’. She has also been a part of various trend forums for brands like Asian paints, and Samsung as well as for the Ministry of Textiles. Her Doctoral thesis explored the area of trend percolation of Indian wear in the country.
