Susan Thomas is a civil servant with the Government of India. A 2001 batch IRS officer, she works as Commissioner of Income Tax with the Ministry of Finance presently. From 2018-23, she was on deputation to NIFT, Bengaluru as its Director, one of the leading fashion design institutes of the country. An alumna of JNU, New Delhi and University of Oxford, she is a handloom buff, having curated the Bengaluru Handloom Festival from 2021-23, culminating in Vignette, the Vishwakarma textile exhibition at NGMA, Bengaluru. She has curated many shows and ran courses on handloom sarees of India and is a leading advocate of India's handcraft across social media.
