Karan has worked over
the last decade to scale and advance a circular economy across fashion and
agriculture, through unlocking investment, strategic philanthropy, scaling
innovation, and driving supply chain transformation. In his current role as a
Programme Manager with Laudes he focuses on making fashion (and through it,
other allied sectors) sustainable by supporting a transition to circular,
renewable solutions across the supply chain. Previously, he worked with an
advisory firm to co-develop 'innovation labs' that aimed to commercialise
technology in low-resource settings across Asia and Africa for post-harvest
loss reduction, food system transformation, and circular fashion. He graduated
in liberal arts from FLAME University - a pioneer of liberal arts in India,
where he studied Environmental Studies and Literary & Cultural Studies, and
wrote a capstone on the 'prosumerist turn' in India. Apart from this, he is a
strong believer in the power of youth in driving change and has supported
efforts around the world to bring young people and their incredible work in
policy, innovation and climate action to the fore as a member of the World
Economic Forum's Global Shapers Community, an UNLEASH Innovation Lab talent,
one of two Indian young leaders selected to represent the voice of young people
at #WEF23.
