Mr. James Phillips is a multi-lingual
C-Suite leader working for 30 years in Asia, 20 years in leadership positions
across High Tech, Automotive and Apparel industries. His experience spans the
industrial sectors in Thailand, China and Vietnam managing multiple sites in
those countries as well India, South Korea, Malaysia, Ethiopia and USA.
As a Partner at Gherzi he oversees the
management consulting practice in the ASEAN region. He has been instrumental in
mapping the circular textile supply chains in the region, planning of new
garment manufacturing projects and spearheading interventions relating to operational improvements as
Gherzi client facilities.
As President of Business Units at TAL
Apparel (2012-22), Mr. James Phillips was responsible for setting up and
overseeing the operations in dress shirt factories in Vietnam, Thailand, China
and Ethiopia (80’000 pcs/day) with sales in excess of US $300 million. He was
also President of TAL’s Made to Measure Business Unit producing on demand
suits, shirts, pants and knits(700’000 pcs/year) with a 4 day lead times and
direct to consumer logistics from both Vietnam and Thailand.
From 2008-12, James Phillips was the
COO/Managing Director at Ecco Thailand, the Danish group’s largest show
manufacturing facility worldwide (7 m pairs pa). His experience at Arvin Meter,
a leading OEM automotive supplier, included P&L and Balance sheet
responsibility for APAC region including 8 factories and 900 employees in
China, Thailand, India and Korea with total sales in region of $250m with
growth of 15% per year
James Phillips has an MBA from University of
Southern Queensland and a mini-MBA (INSEAD).
