Nicholas McCaffrey began his posting as Australia's Deputy High Commissioner (DHOM) to India in January 2024. He served as the Ambassador to Peru from 2014 to 2018 during which he was awarded the Merit of Distinguished Services in the Grade of Grand Cross. He has also served overseas at Australian missions in Manila, Buenos Aires and Madrid. Mr McCaffrey holds a Masters degree in Foreign Affairs and Trade and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree from Monash University.
